Zombie Vultures glide over twice as fast when the player is in a vehicle, and attack precisely enough to hit the player while driving a 4x4 Truck. Zombie Vultures which spawn during the Blood Moon and sometimes at night have more health, give more experience on death and gain a ranged spit attack like the Infected Police Officer. It is recommended to use a Bone Shiv, Hunting Knife, or Machete when harvesting because it will provide the player with more resources than any other tool or weapon. Vultures will not drop any loot upon being killed but can be harvested for Rotting Flesh, Bone and Feathers. Shotgun-like weapons give excellent results if you want to use ranged weapons, but in any case strafing perpendicular to their motion when they get close will reduce the likelihood of being hit. Zombie Vultures move quite slowly when they are near the ground turning, and can be taken out with melee strikes, without much damage being done to the player. Some players (especially those with access to Antibiotics, and even more so those already infected) use melee attacks to conserve ammunition, although the amount of Feathers looted should still exceed what is used in the arrows to shoot it down. They are relatively silent and easy to miss, stalking the players unnoticed over long distances and capable of surprise attacks that can make life difficult for a new player without Antibiotics and Jar of Honey, even if they pose almost no threat in killing the player outright and should be considered a higher threat than average, although not as much as a Zombie Dog. They have a high chance of infecting the player compared to other zombies. Zombie Vultures maneuver sluggishly, tending to fly high and occasionally swooping down to attack the player, although their top speed is still faster than the player. Zombie Vultures are hostile and will try to chase and attack the player if provoked or spots the player. Zombie Vulture are zombie animals found in every biome except the Snowy Forest biome. May appear as part of a flock and in a Blood Moon horde Every biome except Snowy Forest-biome, as well as on roofs of POIs. ![]()
